Gallstones are very painful. They are also increasingly common and affect more young people than ever. Like most chronic conditions, they are associated with lifestyle factors, meaning that they are largely avoidable.
So why not avoid them if you can? Once you know the risk factors, it becomes easier. Below are some ways you can avoid being one of an ever-growing number of people with gallstone disease.
But first you should know that’s there’s a good chance you already have gallstones. Sorry to be the harbinger of doom, but forewarned is forearmed, after all. ‘Silent stones’ are harmless, as long as they stay quiet and keep themselves to themselves. Diet is one way to achieve this, or to stop them from forming in the first place.
